Dear God who made the shades of night
Who made the sun that makes the light.
Whose sacred veils of mystery
Speak to the hungry soul in me.
For every clue, I thank you.
For all that’s true, I thank you.
Dear God who weeps, unheard, for all
For every grain and every fall.
Whose light is in each living cell
And every prison cell as well.
Dear God who sent to save a race
The flesh and blood of perfect grace.
Who grants me what I can’t deserve
And grants to all of you who serve.
